چکیده
This article introduces a novel Induction Blade (IB) prototype modeled by Element Momentum (BEM) theory, which develops higher torque during the starting phase for Horizontal Axis Wind Turbines (HAWT), especially micro-turbines. The IB is composed of two parallel blades joined at their tips and roots, forming distinctive hole in space between that generates Venturi effect as air passes through. phenomenon together with extra lift generated area second blade produce valuable phase. We used Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis to evaluate aerodynamic properties this design compared traditional same radius. prototypes were built (50W, diameter 0.62m, λ=9 speed rated 8m/s) additive manufacturing 3D printer behaviors tested small wind tunnel (square section 0.7m x 0.7m). Our results using CFD show produces up 65% without losing output power low velocity (5-8 m/s). IMPI (Mexican Institute Industrial Protection) protects shape.

Inverse Design of Blade Shapes for Vertical Axis Wind Turbines
An inverse design process is applied to determine blade shapes used in vertical axis wind turbines (VAWTs). The method is based on the modified Garabedian-McFadden technique that uses the deviation of the pressure distribution or the velocity distribution on the surface from a target pressure or velocity distribution, and modifies the blade surface in order to reduce this deviation. The method ...
متن کاملIntegrated airfoil and blade design method for large wind turbines
This paper presents an integrated method for designing airfoil families of large wind turbine blades. For a given rotor diameter and tip speed ratio, the optimal airfoils are designed based on the local speed ratios. To achieve high power performance at low cost, the airfoils are designed with an objective of high Cp and small chord length. When the airfoils are obtained, the optimum flow angle...
متن کاملDiscrete-time Control Stategies for Horizontal Axis Wind Turbines
This paper introduces two discrete-time controllers for horizontal axis wind turbines (HAWTs): a Linear Quadratic Gaussian (LQG) one and a model predictive (MPC) one. The LQG controller aims to strongly attenuate the disturbances influence on the system output. The control objective consists of keeping the output power constant, despite the wind variation, and thus reducing the fatigue that inv...

Wind energy is proving to be a promising energy source to complement conventional energy systems in meeting global energy demands, and is currently one of the fastest growing renewable energy sources. Modern wind turbines are large, flexible structures operating in uncertain environments. Power capture and economic value increase with turbine size, leading to steadily increased turbine size ove...
